Long Time, No Blog...

Okay, I hope I haven't given anyone a heart attack from the shock...I actually decided to start the blog again! Life has been so crazy the last few years I fell off  the blog wagon, but I'm back baby!!
So what's new with us? Well, we just got back from our annual pilgrimage to Huntsville, Alabama to visit with the whole Ayers clan. We look forward to this trip every year and always have a blast!

It was 500 million degrees out there so they needed to cool off with a little red alien drink

Steve, Nathan and Garrett posing for a picture at the Space and Rocket Center

As you can see we had a great time! I haven't downloaded all the pictures yet so this is just a preview. More to come soon!

Catching Up...

I know, it's been about 3 months since I updated the blog...I have no good excuses. But I am going to try to keep up with it for the summer! So let's see...April was a pretty quiet month for us ( a nice change). In May Wyatt had tubes put in his ears to try and stop the recurring ear infections he has had since he was 3 months old. He's doing great and it's nice not going to the doctor every other week! Tyson finished up another year in preschool and is enjoying a summer vacation. He's waiting patiently for his Aunt Bean to be done with school so she can play with him once a week.
For Memorial Day weekend my cousin Kyle came to visit us with his wife Lyndse and their son Kolton. It was a short visit but we had a lot of fun! We went to the zoo...

And the boys spent some time in the pool...

June has been busy but we've been terribnle about taking pictures! I'll make sure I have pictures to update the blog next week... at least that's the plan...

Wyatt's 1st Birthday

I can't believe my sweet baby is already a year old, where has the time gone?
We had a party for him with family and friends last weekend. He wasn't very interested in opening his gifts but he loved the cards, especially his Elmo card. His favorite part of the day was of course...the cake! I made Monkey cupcakes to go with the theme of the day and he thoroughly enjoyed 2 cupcakes, and a little ice cream too.

The House of Germs

So now for the rest of the month...
My wonderful sharing husband shared his germs with Wyatt and I. We both got sick the day after we got back form vacation. We had something between a bad head cold and the stomach flu that lasted about 6 days. Thanks goodness Tyson was able to avoid that illness. But then just as I started getting better Tyson and Nathan got a cold which quickly turned into pneumonia for Tyson over the weekend. Then 2 days later Wyatt got the same cold which turned into an ear infection. After a week of antibiotics and nebulizer breathing treatments (beauty treatments as Tyson called them the 1st day) Tyson was on the mend. Unfortunately just as we thought Wyatt was recovering he started coughing, which lead to wheezing. And his ear infection never went away. So this week we are giving him around the clock breathing treatments and switched him to a new antibiotic. And now it's a visit to the ENT in the near future to talk about putting tubes in his ears. So we are all feeling better (fingers crossed) and looking forward to a nice warm spring and the end of the flu season!
So if you wondered if we dropped of he face of the planet in the last few weeks...now you know why!

Tomorrow is Wyatt's 1st birthday and I can't believe how fast the time has passed. My sweet baby is starting to walk and talk and I'm feeling a little sappy. There will be more to post (with pictures) next week after the birthday celebrations to stay tuned!

Long Time No Blog...

Sorry guys, it's been a while since I blogged. What a crazy month we've had! Where to start...

February 28th was Nathan's 30th birthday. Yay!!! Now I'm not alone in my 30's! When we asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday back in June he said he wanted to go on a cruise with his whole family. I thought about it for approximately 2 seconds and said "Sign me up!" So Nathan's wonderful (and generous)parents coordinated a family vacation with his Grandma (Double G), Aunt Karen, Uncle Floyd and their 2 sons Ryan and Garrett, Nathan's parents, his brother Devin and our family of 4. It was a crazy group of 12 but we had a blast! It was so nice to spend time with family we don't get to see very often. And Tyson enjoyed spending all of his time with everyone else...especially Garrett and Aunt Karen. Wyatt loved all the food on the cruise, a child after my own heart. He aslo loved the sand on the beach a little too much...we kept having to rinse his mouth out becuase he kept trying to eat the sand. The weather was nice and warm most of the trip, especially in comparison to the snow we left behind. Unfortunately Nathan got sick while we were gone but it didn't stop him from having a good time!

We followed the cruise with a few days at Disneyworld (of course). And for the 1st time Tyson really enjoyed all the rides. We were so proud of him! He rode The Pirates of the Carribean, The Haunted Mansion, Soarin...and sat through dark shows. The last day he was there with his grandparents he woke up crying because he forgot to ride Dumbo. Gotta love that kid! All in all a wonderful vacation!

Spaghetti Night

Since we were snowed in we needed some comfort food...so I made a big pot of spaghetti and we pigged out. Normally this would not be something I would blog about but we gave Wyatt spaghetti for the first time. And if you know Wyatt, you know that this boy loves to eat...and he really loved spaghetti!

Auntie Bean had dinner with us too...

Snowpocalypse 2010

Like everyone else, we were snowed in all weekend! My sister Michelle came over and got snowed in with us, she's clearly a glutton for punishment. It started snowing Friday afternoon and finally stopped Saturday afternoon...and the final count was 30 inches!! We shovelled the snow off the driveway a few times Friday nght and then again on Saturday. Then the rest of our neighbors needed help this afternoon so we shovelled some more. Our backs are killing us but we had a great time!

Michelle's car was completely covered in snow...and it looks like its smiling at me...
